Kansas City, MO - Old world meets new world at the Russian - American Holiday Party sponsored by the Russian Community Center and Families for Russian and Ukrainian Adoption.

Take this opportunity to learn about holiday traditions from Russian culture with the Christmas Russian songs presentations by Holmeswood Russian Community Church and Traditional holidays music by Russian artists. Children will gather around the yolka, a Russian holiday tree, with Father Frost and the Snow Maiden. They will also participate in Russian cultural crafts and games. Gifts will be provided to all children with reservations made by December 24.

Participants can help support children in Eastern European orphanages by bidding in our silent auction.

Admission is $10 per person for Russian Community Center and FRUA KC members. Non-member price is $15. Tickets will be available at the door. The Russian-American Holiday Party is open to everyone and ethnic costumes are encouraged.

The Russian Community Center is a non-profit (501 c 3) organization located in Overland Park, KS. Its mission is to serve the 17,000 Russian-speaking people living in the Kansas City metropolitan area by providing essential social and educational programs in a familiar cultural atmosphere.

Families for Russian and Ukrainian Adoption Kansas City (FRUA KC) is a 501 c 3 non-profit organization that provides a network for families in the Kansas City area who have adopted or are seeking to adopt children from Eastern European Countries. We exist to meet three main goals:

• To celebrate our children and their unique cultural heritage
• To support families before and after their children's adoption
• To provide aid to children living in Eastern European Orphanages
